Paucartambo, Peru - Fiesta del Virgen del Carmen

The Festival del Virgen del Carmen in Paucartambo - July 14 to July 16. There isn't much on the web (in English)about this festival, but it is a combination of Incan (or maybe pre-Incan) riturals and Colonial Spanish catholic rituals. Costumed dancers (masked and unmasked) continuously dance around the the town center and in front of the church in a riot of color, noise and people.
